The making of “Sometimes home is a person”

What was the inspiration?

This image is made for the series ’Tea tags’ I made together with Norma.
Inspired by labels with questions that a tea make has bound to it’s teabags. For a whole year, Norma saved the labels from the teabags. Each month I had to choose one question that was on them. Norma and I used the questions for inspiration, which I interpreted freely.

The question for ‘Sometimes home is a person’ was ‘what was the last thing you thought about last night?’.

“Flying is done largely with the imagination”

This is the work I’ve made with the tea topic question “What would you like to do that you’ve never done before” .

Well, I would love to fly, not in an airplane or ULM or even jump out of a plane with a parachute. No, I mean really fly. Spread my wings and take off, just like that. Quiet frankly this is only possible in the imagination.

This is the work I’ve made with the tea topic question “what’s your worst nightmare’ in mind.
The stork symbolizes motherhood and new birth. He’s flying out of the frame away from the lady, a sign of lost motherhood.

Sketching Wednesday

Sketching Wednesday. Monday I asked you all the question, 👉🏻What was the best day of your life👈🏻Many of my female friends will answer this with “having my baby” And although I’m a mum too and she’s very special too me, my answer is the day I married and left home was my best day. Not the day itself because it was a disaster but the fact that I left my childhood behind and slowly build my own life. It took me nearly 30 years to finally feel okay, even happy sometimes. Okay it’s late in life, but for the first time I don’t have the need to be an actor in my own life, at last I’m me. 

Together with my friend Norma I’m working on a new project. As inspiration for our work we take questions from #pickwick#teatopics In the next day’s I will reveal my new work as an answer to the question bit by bit .
